What happens if you die without a will?

The law in New South Wales provides for a “formula” to work out how your assets will be divided among your family and relatives. If you wish for your estate (what you own when you die) to be distributed in a different way, then you should consider writing a will.

Taking the time to make a legal will and testament helps ensure your intentions are clearly understood. Many unnecessary family disputes are caused by the absence of a legal will, or a poorly created one using a DIY legal will kit.
